Chicken consumption is on the rise in France, and the health situation is stable thanks to avian influenza vaccination. In this favorable context, Euralis is mobilizing to revitalize its Poultry Sector. The cooperative is offering a more comprehensive and secure solution, encouraging farmers to maintain their farm’s production potential, expand their facilities, or embark on new poultry ventures. Key benefits include personalized support and financial assistance.
Firstly, poultry reached a historic milestone in France in 2025: it is now the most consumed meat. National demand saw spectacular growth in 2024, an exception in the meat sector: +9.8% year-on-year, and a 15% jump over five years (source: Itavi, based on SSP and customs data). Moreover, 96% of French people consume chicken, with 82% doing so at least once a week (Source: ANVOL/CSA 2024 survey). And 86% of consumers consider it important to buy 100% French poultry (source: Anvol).
Furthermore, vaccination campaigns against avian influenza in waterfowl allow the poultry sector to operate in a more stable and serene environment. This context is encouraging for farmers.
Another favorable market factor is the renewed dynamism of the Southwest abattoirs, where demand is strong, driven by consumption and the positive image of our Labels of Origin and Quality (SIQO) in Gers and Landes.
Finally, with the relatively high average age of poultry farmers, opportunities for new installations are more numerous, allowing for the capture of these booming markets.
A New, More Comprehensive and Secure Poultry Offering
In this favorable context, Euralis Poultry is launching a new offer to support the development of poultry operations. Several options are available, with varying investments:
- Versatile and automated fixed buildings (150 m², 400 m², or 1,300 m²), with connections to reputable building constructors.
- Mobile coops, with the possibility of automated feeding.
This new offering also covers the production of Label Rouge poultry and everyday chicken.
In all cases, production is contractualized and thus secured: thanks to this buoyant market context and reliable outlets, farmers benefit from a guaranteed chicken purchase price indexed to feed costs, ensuring a stable income over the long term.
Finally, this offer optimizes workflow with annual chick arrival planning, automation and connectivity of buildings, and a digital application on the farmer’s smartphone for daily monitoring.
Financial Aid for Farmers Supported by Euralis
Leveraging its cooperative model and in this favorable environment, Euralis is offering support to producers who want to expand their facilities (new or renovated spaces), maintain their farm’s production potential, or simply start a new venture. At the core of this offer is comprehensive and personalized on-site support, tailored to the specific needs of farmers, especially newcomers. This ranges from project development to regulatory aspects and ongoing monitoring. It also includes an efficient and optimized nutrition plan addressing the specific needs of poultry throughout the seasons, and health support provided by our consulting veterinarians.
Projects can receive up to 50% of total funding. This funding includes aid from Euralis, the Region, and also potential support obtained through the development of a photovoltaic project.
Clear Ambitions Serving Farmers, the Territory, and Abattoir Demand
Euralis’s Poultry Producer Organization (OP Volailles) currently comprises 140 producers and 4.5 million birds. By 2028, the ambition is to develop 35 new projects within the cooperative territory, equivalent to an additional 1 million chickens, whether from Landes, Gers, the Southwest, or for everyday consumption.
Green Energy Production
Operating a poultry workshop can also be an opportunity for farmers to initiate a photovoltaic project and benefit from the support of experts from Eurasolis, Euralis’s solar energy production subsidiary. The two projects are complementary and guarantee better investment profitability.
“Euralis offers solutions to improve the income of its members, and broiler poultry is one of them. We want to support our members and help them diversify their income sources, thereby meeting the demand of our sectors. Now is the time to capitalize on this momentum, which is why we are organizing this event,” explains Jonathan Lalondrelle, farmer in Vielle-Soubiran (40) and President of Euralis’s Poultry Producer Organization.
“The Euralis Poultry Sector has been established in the cooperative territory for 30 years and therefore benefits from significant, valuable experience. Today, we want to give it a new impetus, as the market context is buoyant, the age pyramid of producers is favorable, and avian influenza is behind us. This initiative, serving farmers and our territories, is part of the strategic plan focused on the development and consolidation of animal productions at Euralis. It is therefore a global dynamic,” details Sylvain Claveria, Director of Euralis Animal Productions, which includes cattle, waterfowl, and poultry.
“With this new offer designed to sustainably support the development of poultry operations, we contribute to the resilience of our members’ farms, with a promising sector that offers interesting opportunities, in line with consumer expectations. Beyond that, we contribute to food sovereignty, which is even more important when we know that one out of two chickens consumed in France is currently imported,” specifies Sandra Fontaine, Head of Euralis’s Poultry Producer Organization. “Of course, we continue to work with respect for animal welfare and the environment, values we hold dear and which are at the heart of our CSR policy.”
