The Division was created in 2007 and is based on the company Jean Stalaven, of which Euralis holds 65% of the capital. The Division focuses on Euralis Group products for the catering industry and ready meals.

 

Activities

  • Promoting and preserving culinary quality by offering customers, at the time and place of their choosing, fresh products prepared in the best conditions and to the highest standards, from starters to desserts.
  • Products: salads, starters and savoury pastries, cured meats, ready meals, and fruit from 6 production sites.
  • Marketing: independent local stores (48% turnover), supermarkets (36% turnover) and the catering trade (14% turnover)
  • A 7,800 m² warehouse and 7 logistics platforms supplying local stores, plus a fleet of 130 lorries and 5 call centres organising distribution of more than 2,300 stock references, providing optimum service to our customers.
  • New products, developed in response to careful market research and the needs of customers and trade professionals, are created at our specialist culinary centre in Yffiniac (22)

Development / History

Stalaven, with 60 years of successful trading behind it, has achieved continuous growth in the cooked meats market by anticipating changes in lifestyle and consumer tastes.

The acquisition of two companies, SAG (85) and VODIS (10), specialising in the distribution of products to small local stores, the regional distributor Gastronome du Dauphiné (38), and the purchase of a stake in Trois Gourmands (45), a company specialising in salads and cold starters, and the opening of a new unit producing salads for the catering trade, have enabled Stalaven to continue growing and achieve an increase of 30% in its turnover for the financial year ending in March 2008.

Sustainable development and quality

Stalaven operates a total quality policy. The company has held ISO 9001 certification for almost 10 years, and progressively began certifying its sites to ISO 14001 in 2004 (five had been certified by 1 April 2008). Stalaven also holds IFS certification and is engaged in a continuous improvement process based on the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) standard. It is also a signatory of the UN's Global Compact.
