Ambition

To guarantee the growth of the Group's longstanding activities by expanding its area of operations. Growing the Group's territory will enable Euralis to reach a critical size and ensure a better position for local agriculture in the face of turbulent international markets.

History and Development

The Agricultural Production and Distribution Division comprises the longstanding Euralis activities. The Division has gradually opened up to new areas (vegetables, winegrowing). Against a backdrop of market instability, the need to increase its critical size to protect its local agricultural businesses became essential. In 2007, a number of acquisitions were made which strengthened the Group's position in SW France and expanded its area of operations eastwards.

  • Bartaliment, a feed manufacturing and distribution company, buying and selling cereals wholesale, based at Saint-Gaudens (31).
  • The Toulouse co-operative Coopéval : a specialist wheat and sunflower wholesaler; since 2005 it has been involved in hemp cultivation. This plant, an environmentally friendly crop, is opening up new prospects for the Euralis Group and its members. In 2008, Euralis and Coopéval joined forces to open Agrofibre, a primary processing plant at Cazères (31). A first step towards the creation of a complete hemp operation in SW France, from cultivation through to the manufacture of biomaterials. Coopéval's arrival in the Group also expanded its retail network with the addition of 15 Gamm Vert and Coop Vert stores.
  • Comosud : with the integration of Comodoc, Comoval and Comovence, Euralis expanded its Winegrowing business (wine packaging) to included the vineyards in the Rhône Valley, Provence, Languedoc and Roussillon.
